Untried Polish Challenge - Number 4 One colour

Today I couldn't wait and went onto number four. I think by the time the challenge ends I'll be posting at the same time as everyone else :p Today for the one colour I wanted something with a nautical theme, but nothing over the top since my students already tease me enough about my nails changing every class :p  I picked this lovely blue by OPI called I Saw...U Saw... We Saw... Warsaw and right away I was reminded of the 'navy girl' shorts that you would see in an old pin-up.

So I decided to do the one colour challenge and used little silver beads to make the buttons. I honestly don't know how I have not tried this blue before I already know I am going to wear it all the time. I loved the formula, it went on nice and opaque so that with one coat it was pretty well covered and the second coat it was the lovely dark blue you see here. It went on so smooth it just reminded me why I love OPI polishes.

This picture captured the colour a bit better as the top picture is a little dark and not shiny enough.

As you can see there is a little wear on the tip because I ran out of time in the morning before work to take pictures so this is after a day of teaching.

I was happy with how they turned out, and the polish held up really well for one day since I tend to be a little hard on my nails. I don't know how I haven't used this yet I couldn't stop looking at the colour all day, although I am bias to blue  :p

Untried Polish Challenge - Number 3 Two colours

I didn't love my last ones, so today I filed and started on my third challenge. I used Revlon Sunshine Sparkle as the yellow, and Covergirl Coral Silk as my pseudo orange for nails that matched the tulips in my garden. The Sunshine sparkle is maybe the most amazing yellow I have ever seen the colour is great and the sparkles just add to the shine on it, but it is also pretty bad formula, it goes on goopy and streaks a ton. Another thing was it took three really thick coats to get a good coverage as it is super sheer, so I would probably recommend using a white coat under it if you want to try it. I never really use Revlon except for their glitters so I am unsure if all their polishes are this sheer.

The Coral Silk is amazing, I love the colour and it is super opaque so it gave great coverage with little effort. It also went on really nice and was thick enough that it was really easy to stamp.

I didn't want to do a full gradient as I just wanted a little yellow at the bottom like the tulips in my garden, so I used a sponge and then just rolled my nail, I was glad at how it turned out. I used a stamping plate to do the little Coral silk half flower on my thumb nail.

I probably won't use Sunshine Yellow this one that often even though I love the colour as it's too sheer, but I will be using the Coral silk again after I finish this challenge!

Also I got Trixie, Yummy, Blu, Kerry, Happi, Austine, and Emme from Zoya for the Earth Day polish exchange. So worth it, now I just have to wait. The worst part for sure!

Untried Polish Challenge - Number 2 Oldest

I gave my nails the morning off from polish and decided to torture them with my oldest unused next. I am doing them terribly out of order, but as I was going though all my unused polishes I found a very sad looking bottle of gold that I got a few years ago and never tried it because I have so many other gold nail polishes. It  amazingly had not separated even after all this time, but once I started putting it on I was slightly disappointed in how thin it was. I ended up having to put four coats on my nails to get it to look gold and as you can see it didn't even cover that well with that. I am going to blame this on age rather than on the polish but it was spread weird and I got little bumps and ripples over my nails which you can only partly see in the pictures.

Right hand and left hand.
It also came out very yellow/gold, I probably won't be getting another one of these since I am very happy with my gold from GOSH.
I would say I won`t be using even this bottle again, I may end up trading it to Zoya for their earth day polish exchange that goes until the 26th. Also getting 50% off an order can`t hurt since I have not yet tried their polishes.

Untried Polish Challenge - Newest

Yesterday I started the Untried Polish Challenge which was created by Jonochi at Just Add Polish. Since I tend to buy a few polishes at a time I have a lot that I have never even worn before. I thought it was a great idea to get me to actually use those poor ignored polishes.

I am doing them out of order so today I started with the Newest untried polish. I recently bought a few of the liquid sand polishes from the OPI James Bond collection, so the white one had so far been unused. After putting it on, I have to say that it is my new favorite out of the bunch. It reminds me of snow. I know what I am wearing this winter.

I love the texture, and after a ton of pictures I still couldn't get the amazing sparkle it has to it. I wore it to work and it managed to make it through the day mostly unharmed. Overall I was pretty impressed and will be wearing this again for sure.
